Hosting an event for the first time I can appreciate that SPONSORS MAKE THE SHOW WORLD GO ROUND!
We all assume that show hosts make Big MULA for hosting events. We add up all the dogs that attend and booth amounts in our head and assume that “So and So” made X amount of money. Well, let me tell you, It’s more like running a full-time kennel, with even more scheduling and red tape and unexpected overhead. Personally, I’ve found hosting this event very purposeful and meaningful, just the way I feel about breeding dogs.. But guys, Nostalgia doesn’t pay the bills. I never sat around and daydreamed about things like business licenses, event insurance, trophies and ribbons, flights, hotels, expenses for your staff, Promotions, advertising, and the countless lonely hours it takes to make it happen.
A labor of love, yes, I am learning to love event planning. This is pretty rad and the story, the history behind THE BEAST OF THE EAST is everything to my husband. And although I’ve never been to one, yet =D, I can’t wait for NOVEMBER 4th to get here. I mean I can’t even read about bulldogs or dog books period without a tear rolling down my cheek. Dogs are such a beautiful fulfilling thing, a life’s work for many of us who own and care for them. And to witness all that love passion and purpose in at this event IN PERSON!!! I’m already crying! Don’t let me cry lol
Sure THE BEAST is historic to the bulldog, but it hasn’t been done for 10 years.. We Have Big Shoes to Fill… Your Show Hosts Bear the Burden, with a smile I might add, but help will go a long way.
